It was a summer with impressive sartorial choices for lawyer and human rights activist Amal Clooney, who has over and again proved that she does not only speaks corporate dressing fluently, but also has an eye for chic, head turning mini dresses with a sexy twist.
On two occasions, appearing with her husband George Clooney in Lake Como, she took the simple dress-shoe combo and realized it stunningly with some help from Ermanno Servino: The brand’s sequined mini in mint green created a dazzling glamorous look, softened by the romantic lace on the hemline and bodice.
Later in the summer, she chose another Ermanno Scervino design, carrying a different allure with its layers of elaborate lace and its ruffled, playful skirt. The white strapless mini dress from the brand’s spring 2022 collection was styled with gold sandals, a woven clutch and statement earrings, differentiating from the catwalk’s proposition but looking just as chic.
Lace may always be a safe feminine choice, but on a mini dress with a clinched waist and a layered skirt it takes on a playful character that also does not fail to compliment the female figure. On the other hand, the glamour brought on by sequins seems to be a recent favorite for Amal Clooney, who has previously also combined her baggy jeans with a sparkly top.
Nevertheless, these Ermanno Scervino creations proved to be an ideal choice for a woman who loves dresses. Sophisticated and intricate, and yet ingeniously simple in concept, the dresses were a perfect start for a night out and a smart add to the lawyer’s personal style.

The designer, who has stepped down as the chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, after three years, always manages to bring his cosmopolitan spirit into his collections, but, this year, there was also something comforting and at the same time somewhat melancholic in his designs.
Before the eyes of celebs such as Madonna and Chris Rock, Tom Ford presented a collection full of his favorites: plenty of cool lamés, black lingerie lace, sheer tops, sequins for extra metallic shine, embroideries for a romantic twist. It was just like a deep dive into his glorious past, with the satin bra tops reminding of his Gucci era at the beginning of the Naughties, and the chiffon dresses bringing us back into his 2022 spring collection for YSL. As far as the menswear is concerned, a hot pink zoot suit set the bold tone, going a step further from the expected traditional tuxedo.
